How can two “related” companies have totally different levels of customer service? (att & directv)?

I don’t know if they are owned by the same people, or they have just partnered up for bundle services, but I have used at&t & directv for the past three years now, and they have just recently within the past year or so offered bundle services together. I am a super loyal customer to at&t, I think they are a great company, and they have gone above and beyond to help me and take care of my phone service, on the other hand directv has done nothing but charge me out the butt for things I don’t have or didn’t order, they have double charged me for equiptment, I WAS on easy pay, until they charged me two weeks early and caused me a nice overdraft fee, and all of these things they did nothing to fix or help me with. Are they owned by the same people? How can one company have such high standards, and the other have zero standards at all?

thing is that there is no english station for it just spanish but there are different websites that keep saying that its broadcast in spanish and english, but it would make sense for it to be only spanish if it were in a spanish speaking only tier option on a digital cable thing…
