Do I have to change my Directv package to Directv Plus DVR to use my DVR?

AT&T U-Verse has recently become available to me. Is it a better solution than Time Warner Cable?

I already have DirecTV, and a DVR from them.. however, I just had their regular receiver before, and installed the DVR myself. Therefore, it only has one cable running from the dish to the back of the DVR receiver. So I can only record one show at a time..

I want to get another cable hooked up. What would DirecTV charge for someone to come out to just hook up an additional cable from the satellite dish?

The “2″ room DVR is not really a 2 room DVR. If I record 2 shows I “have to ” watch either one of them. The installer said I could record 2 shows and watch a third if needed. Not at all. The reason we got the service was that it was a 2 room DVR. Yet under my impression I would have 2 actual DVRs. Now my kids cannot watch a show if I happen to record 2 shows at once. I am use TIVO. This system is not worth it to me. The remote does not respond, intially, I have to press the button at least twice, ETC….. Not happy at all.

Who else is having a hard time with terrible customer service with Time Warner Cable?

We had a DVR installed on a Saturday & the guy was late & took off before the box was done loading info. 15 min. later we realized it didn’t record, pause, etc. We called & they said the next appt time would be Wednesday 3 – 5. They called Wed. @ 2:45 & since we didn’t answer the phone they didn’t come. My sister in law was picking up the kids & was back to my house b4 3. I called time warner & they told me too bad you should have been there. So they came back Thrus. @ 4pm WITHOUT a WORKING BOX. You see, the guy on the phone tells me after an hour on hold, we are all out of boxes. We can put you on a list & get it to you next week, maybe. Time warner wasted my Saturday, about 3 hrs on Wed and 3 hrs on Thurs. Do you think things will be better next week? No way, google time warner sucks & see how many angry customers are out there! 3 times & still no working dvr. Every rep there was rude esp Roy Battles. They just don’t care about giving customers service :( WHAT DO YOU THINK?
