I have a simple Charter cable package of only 71 channels. If I wanted only a few channels that are in the Charter digital cable package but not all of them, could I only order and pay for the ones I want? Or do I have to order the whole thing?

I’ve been in Madison, Wisconsin for three years with Charter cable/internet service. I’ve had so many problems with both over the last few years and customer service and billing is horrible with them. I know Charter has monopolized in that area, and I want to shop somewhere else … but can’t seem to find anything better. Am I stuck with Charter, or is there an alternative that is just as good?

My room mate and I were thinking about getting Charter to come out to the dorms and install us internet and TV. We have cable in the room provided to us by the university but there is a 5G quota on the network, 5G of bandwidth per week. I know it’s not bad, but I HATE restrictions. I don’t want to have to worry about how much space I have left when it’s Friday night and I’ve downloaded a few programs.

Anyway, anyone have any idea on this one? Do you think it would be a big deal at all if there’s already cable in the room? I know at least there’s the possibility of cable TV, but what about internet? We have a network both wired/ethernet and wireless.

What do you think?
